September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
During the month of September, childhood cancer organizations help raise awareness of pediatric cancer while raising funds for research, prevention, treatment and cures to cancer. The international awareness for childhood cancer month is the gold ribbon. We want to share ways to help children with cancer that are more than just donating.

Be the Match
Be the Match is an incredible organization that allows people to become blood stem cell donors and be matched with someone in need. Donors include volunteer hematopoietic cell donors and umbilical cord blood units in the US. By joining the registry and becoming a donor, you could potentially save someone's life. It is a very rewarding program to be a part of! Be the Match is part of the National Marrow Donor Program, the national nonprofit founded in Minneapolis in 1986. Of course one of the best ways you can help childhood cancer patients is by donating blood. The American Red Cross especially encourages people and eligible honors to donate blood or platelets to support kids this month. Looking for a place to donate? Run A Race For Charity!
Another great way to help is to stay fit and join a race for charity! St. Jude hosts an annual walk/run to fundraise for and help cure childhood cancer. You can join the walk in person or virtually!
